On April 15th 2018, SALAM volunteers, headed by Shahira Binti Ariffin, contributed groceries to a needy family at Lot 1837, Batu 9, Kampung Sijangkang, Teluk Panglima Garang Selangor. The head of this family in need is Mr. Muhammed Nganadi Bin Muhammed Mustar, 62, who has been suffering from hip problems that has caused him to be paralyzed from the hip down. His wife, Ms. Asmah Binti Hamzah, 68, is suffering from heart disease. Ms. Asmah has a mentally ill twin who the family is also taking care of. Because of their situation, the environment in which they live has deteriorated into an unmanageable and cluttered mess. Several volunteers took the initiative to assist the family in holding gotong-royong and also helped them to celebrate Aidilfitri on June 30th of 2018, and the purpose of this has been to secure the family with better health and some financial security, especially regarding food. It was a wonderful experience for SALAM volunteers serving and assisting these three elderly individuals. A total of 22 SALAM volunteers along with 10 students from Maahad Tahfiz Ulama Sentral participated in the outreach along with 3 people contracted by the local Kuala Langat district council.
